Join us for “Service Sew for
Breast Cancer Awareness” |

Make plans to join us on January 18 for a service sew to benefit the American Cancer SocietyThis service sew is geared to makingheart pillows for those who have undergone treatment for breast cancer. We have chosen January 18 as many of you have the day off. Please consider spending part of your day with us and making a few of these pillows. We will hold the service day at both our Katy and Sugar Land locations from 10 am to 4 pm. We will have machines set up with neutral color thread and we will provide you with the pattern to use.All we ask is that you bring 100% cotton fabric. You will need 1/2 yard per pillow. We have some fabric that we can provide, but we do not have enough for everyone. You do not have to be an accomplished seamstress. We will have people in the classroom to help you cut out and sew the pillow. There is no need to bring your sewing machine. We will have machines set up. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause and it will not cost you a great deal. Since this is a school holiday for many of the districts this would be a great time for a Mother/Daughter outing. Any child must be accompanied by a parent and no children under the age of 10. Since we will have the machines set up, just bring your fabric and a pair of scissors for cutting out your pattern. Come in anytime between 10 am and 4 pm and sew a pillow or two. Remember, you will need a 1/2 yard of 100% cotton fabric per pillow. So come join us on Monday, January 18 any time between 10 am and 4 pm and sew for a worthy cause. |

Those of you who have been football widows during this past season will want to join us on Saturday, February 6 for our annual Football Widows Sale. This is the time of year when we will have great discounts on floor models of machines and cabinets and close-out prices on several models of machines. New models of machines will be introduced in March/April and we will need to move certain models. In addition we will have ALL in-stock accessories on sale with a 20% discount. This is a great opportunity to get that book, foot or special thread that you have been wanting. I have several thread packages (both embroidery and sewing) that are great buys. But wait, there’s more— you get 20% off that great low price. As a special bonus, buy any Viking/Pfaff design collection with your 20% discount and get the second one at 1/2 of the original price (no additional discount). Viking and Pfaff have come out with some really original design collections lately, including the handlook needle one that looks like crewel and the crochet collection. We recently received our shipment of wool/acrylic thread that gives these collections a fabulous look. We have some lovely colors in stock. During the day we will have door prize drawings at 11 am and 2 pm. We will have several prizes and a grand prize each drawing valued at over $50. This is a great opportunity to do a bit of shopping and save some money and walk out the door with a great prize. Those of you who purchased a sewing machine from McDougal Sewing Center aKaty or Sugar Land are entitled to join our sewing club. This club meets once a month at each store and we do various techniques that we incorporate into small projects. The cost is $24 per year and is pro-rated from when you join. This club is only available to customers who purchased their machine from us. If you would like more information or are interested in joining, give us a call or ask one or our sales people. |
