Charity Sew for Breast Cancer
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please join McDougal Sewing Center as we contribute with our annual charity sew. We will once again be making the breast cancer pillows that will be distributed to local patients that are going through chemo.
Stop by one of our four locations and pick up a pattern. We will be accepting completed pillows up until October 23. At that time they will be taken to a local distribution point and given to patients in need.
We all know how generous sewers can be, so please give your time and talent and participate in this charity sew. Pick up your pattern at our main store at 20141 Park Row in Katy or one of our three Joann’s locations.
New products introduced for Viking/Pfaff machines.

These products should be in the stores the middle of October, so make sure to stop by. Those of you who have taken advantage of our “Red Bag Promotion” will receive 20% off of this product when you shop with your red bag.
The extension table with adjustable guide should be available the middle of October. This is made specifically for the Sapphire, Ruby and Diamond to help support those large projects.
For those of you who are interested in free motion quilting, but don’t have room for a long arm, you might be interested in the new Platinum 16. This is a 16” sit down machine that comes with the table and has optional stitch regulator. Perfect for the quilter who is tired of sending out their quilt for quilting and for those fiber artist, you will be amazed.
So be sure and stop by one of our four locations to see the newest machines and accessories that are available.
6D Software is Launched
For those of you who have software to complement your embroidery machine and those of you who are thinking of software, the new 6D Embroidery System has been launched. The software comes in 3 levels, 6D embroidery, 6D Embroidery Extra and 6D Premier. The basic package, 6D Embroidery will adjust, personalize and combine your embroideries with an unlimited number of designs and lettering options. 6D Embroidery Extra creates designs, PhotoStitch and quilt blocks automatically. 6D Premier includes over 10 software programs and new design elements including 36 puffy foam frames and 6 puffy foam fonts.
For those of you who are interested in learning more about this software we will have a demonstration on Saturday, October 26 from 2-4. This is great time to see the software and how it works. For those of you who already have software this will give you the opportunity to see if you would like to trade up. This demonstration is free, however, you must register in advance as we have a limited number of seats available.
Due to the launch of the 6D software we will be phasing out our 5D classes. Those of you who have not taken advantage of your free classes will want to check the schedule to see what is available. We are offering each class several times during the quarter to give you ample opportunity.
Beginning in January we will begin doing the 6D classes.
